About Us
The New Testament Church of God started in Jamaica in 1917 by Evangelist J. Wilson Bell, a native Pentecostal Preacher who lived and worked in Kingston. However, the official record shows that the church was organized in 1925, by an American missionary, the Rev J. S. Llewelyn who was sent to Jamaica by the Church of God in the United States of America.
This organization officially celebrates 100 years of ministry in Jamaica in 2024. It is still growing, and the official statistical records reveal that it is the 2nd largest denomination in Jamaica.
Message from the Administrative Bishop
Bishop Dr. Roy Notice
The New Testament Church of God in Jamaica stands as a Bible-based Pentecostal church that seeks to honour God through worship, service and a commitment to moral and upright living.
The pastors and members of the Denomination are passionate about sharing the message of the Gospel using all available means. We share the Gospel through lifestyle, advocacy, charity, proclamation and becoming influencers in whatever spaces we occupy.
In January 2025 the New Testament Church of God in Jamaica will officially start its Centennial celebrations. We are grateful to God that God has raised up this community of faith, with over 360 congregations across Jamaica as a beacon of light and hope to our nation and the wider global village. Many pastors and members of the denomination have become church planters and missionaries, and God has used them to establish strong and thriving churches in England, North America and the Caribbean. We can confidently and humbly declare that the Lord has blessed us and caused His face to shine upon us.
I am deeply honoured to be leading the church through this season of its history. May the Lord continue to grant us His wisdom, courage and compassion as we continue the Gospel mission.
